What IS UX Design anymore these days?

Do androids dream of easier to use software?
The difference between good and bad is never what is under the hood. It is never the technology. It is never because it is cutting-edge or ahead of its time.

The difference between long-term success and short-term payoff is never a gimmick. It is never a logo, a hook, or a feature. Nor is it ever bottom-line driven.

To succeed in the ever-broadening realm of software design, it is never the CEO's pedigree. It is never the office locations. And it is never the "culture" of the shop: free sodas, silly office pranks, or team-building exercises.

The critics will heap on the praise, and the customer will be coming back solely on the design of the user experience.

As a user experience therapist, I have only one question for the user:

"How does this make you feel?"
